The Matavén waterway stands out as one of the few destinations where it is still possible to catch truly extraordinary specimens, with weights exceeding 20 to 25 pounds.

Large Peacock Bass are the main attraction at Matavén, a destination that also offers extraordinary species diversity — Yamu, Arawana, Payara, Agujeta, Bagres, Moncholo, and Piranhas. Prior experience is not necessary. Basic knowledge of fly fishing or lure casting is recommended.

DAY 0 – Arrival in Bogotá
DAY 1 – Bogotá → Matavén Rainforest

Our team will receive you at El Dorado International Airport and accompany you to the pre-arranged hotel (included in the program).

Early morning transfer to the airport for the commercial flight to Inírida, where our indigenous guides will meet you and transfer you by boat to our base camp in the heart of the Matavén Rainforest.

Upon Arrival at the Lodge:

At the end of the afternoon, an orientation briefing will be provided on fishing locations and conservation guidelines.

DAYS 2-7 – Fishing in Matavén Territory

Fishing is conducted with two anglers accompanied by a captain and Piaroa indigenous guide, experts in river dynamics, lagoons, and wildlife.

5:30 am – Coffee
6:00 am – Breakfast
7:00 am – Departure to fishing areas
12:00 pm – Picnic-style lunch on river beaches
1:00 pm – Fishing resumes
5:30 pm – Return to lodge
6:30 pm – Cocktails and rest
7:30 pm – Dinner

During these days, anglers will explore different tributaries, lagoons, and beaches with high probability of sighting and fishing for Peacock Bass and other rainforest species.

DAY 8 – Return to Bogotá

Early in the morning after breakfast, the group will return by boat to Inírida to catch the flight back to Bogotá.
Upon arrival in Bogotá, transfer to the airport or hotel according to your personal itinerary.
Suggestion: If departing the same day, book international flights with departure after 5:00 p.m.
